On this page, you can find out how to apply for places in our Nursery, Reception and other year groups.

Nursery
Saplings is our governor run Nursery for 3 and 4 year-old children.
We offer places in September for children who are three on or before 31st August, or in January for children who are three on or before 31st December.
We usually take up to 26 pupils in Nursery.
You can complete an application form at any time and send it to the school office. You can also call the school office to find out if we have spaces available.
Nursery Admission Arrangements
Please note: children with places in our Nursery do not automatically get a place in Reception. You will have to apply for a school place as normal (see below).
Reception
As we are a maintained school, applications for places in Reception at Hob Hill should be made using Staffordshire Primary School Admissions.
Children usually start school in the September after their 4th birthday.
For a start in September 2026, children should have their 4th birthday between 1st September 2021 and 31st August 2022. Applications can be made from 1st November 2025.
Our Published Admission Number (PAN) is 30, which means we can take up to 30 children in our Reception class each year.
The closing date for applications is 15th January 2026.
