Our Vision
The study of Art and Design at Hob Hill Primary School has been developed with our school motto of ‘Flourish and Achieve as Unique Creations of God’ as its guiding principle with the aim to stimulate creativity and imagination amongst our children, providing them with visual, tactile and sensory experiences, to enhance their understanding of the world around them. Learning through creativity builds children’s life skills – helping them to become more inquisitive, resilient, imaginative, reflective, resourceful and collaborative, embodying our school’s learning behaviours. As the children progress, they will gain a deeper understanding of how Art and Design has shaped history, and how it has contributed to the culture, creativity and wealth of an ever-changing world.

Woodland Wonder Festival
In Reception, the children worked with artist Tess Radcliffe to create an A5 collage using paper and bright colours that relate to the colours that represent the flags of commonwealth countries. Here's some of our children in action!
The finished artwork will then be printed onto a feather flag and displayed at the Woodland Wonder Festival on 7th July at Birches Valley.

Rugeley Schools Commonwealth
Games Art Project
Partnered with the Celebrating Birmingham Project
Our children have worked with Artist Jennifer Collier to create a fantastic art installation to represent Rugeley being an area of outstanding natural beauty. This July, the Queen's baton will be passing through Rugeley town centre where our artwork, along with other local schools, will be displayed. You'll have to look up to see our 'Sense of Place'.
